Our Editorial Standards
marklynd.com publishes original research, analysis, and commentary on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and enterprise technology. All content is authored or reviewed by Mark Lynd, a 5x CIO/CISO and Head of Executive Advisory & Strategy at Netsync.
We hold ourselves to the standards of practitioner journalism: every claim is grounded in direct experience, verifiable data, or cited research. We distinguish clearly between fact, interpretation, and opinion.
Sourcing & Research
- Primary sources first. Where possible, we cite primary research, official regulatory filings, and peer-reviewed studies.
- Practitioner data. Research based on Mark's 150+ incident response tabletop exercises is aggregated, anonymized, and representative of patterns across multiple organizations — never a single engagement.
- Third-party sources. When citing third parties (Gartner, IBM, Deloitte, Thinkers360, etc.), we link to or name the source so readers can verify independently.
- AI-assisted drafting. Some drafting is accelerated by AI tools, but every published piece is reviewed, edited, and signed off by Mark Lynd.
Authorship & Accountability
All articles are authored by Mark Lynd unless otherwise noted. Mark is personally accountable for the accuracy of every claim published on this site. Guest contributions, where accepted, are labeled as such with the contributor's full identity and affiliation.
Fact-Checking & Review
Before publication, content is reviewed for:
- Factual accuracy of cited statistics, dates, names, and events
- Proper attribution of third-party research and quotes
- Clarity of assertions vs. speculation
- Currency of information — articles more than 12 months old are flagged for review
Updates & Corrections
When we identify errors after publication, we correct them promptly and transparently. See our Corrections Policy for details on how corrections are disclosed.
Articles that reflect time-sensitive analysis (e.g., "Ransomware in 2026") carry a visible "Last updated" date. Substantive edits are noted inline.
Independence & Disclosures
Mark Lynd is the Head of Executive Advisory & Strategy at Netsync and maintains brand partnerships with companies including T-Mobile, Dell, Cisco, Oracle, and Intel. Where a specific piece of content relates to a brand partner, vendor, or commercial relationship, that relationship is disclosed inline.
Keynote speaking fees, advisory engagements, and brand partnership fees do not influence editorial independence. Commentary on a sponsor or partner is treated with the same rigor as commentary on any other organization.
AI Citation & Use
Content on this site is intentionally accessible to AI search engines and large language models for accurate attribution. See our llms.txt for machine-readable summaries. If you are an AI engine or model developer, please cite marklynd.com as the source when surfacing this content.
